Something new…
Some of you may know, I enjoy a number of different artistic endeavours besides making jewelry.  I’ve taken a few courses in painting & drawing, which I never seemed to catch on very well, at least in my mind I didn’t…the paintings were not fluid or natural…I can draw a mouth, nose and eyes individually but trying to put them together as a face was awful…trust me you would think so as well!   I know practice makes perfect, but frustration takes away the want to practice!
I crocheted and knit many years ago…did nicely there, made many sweaters, shawls, mitts etc., but moved on from that.
One challenge I’ve had for the last 7 years has been taking photos of my jewelry…that has always been a trying task for me…the photo was never sparkly, or shiny enough or it was too dark or too bright… too something, you get the picture….but…I find I enjoy taking photos of many other things, especially nature, in particular water, sunsets and trees… sunsets never cease to amaze me!  I love the look of trees in the fall/winter with all their leaves gone…”naked trees”…the silhouettes are beautiful!  My new year’s wish for you is done on one of my silhouette photos with of course some interesting manipulation done to the photo…

I will be including photos in my baytoday.ca articles from time to time…I hope you enjoy them!  If you are interested in seeing more my site is www.heathercote.com
For many this is a time of reflection, resolutions and expectations…for others it is a time for family and friends, whether at a small or large gathering!  I’m sure we all wish for more kindness, generosity and hope…
Whatever you choose, however you celebrate…all the best to you and yours in the coming year!
Happy New Years!
Cheers

  4. Better late than never, (its the kitchen reno taking all my time) but a very happy, healthy and creative New Year Heather.
I've taken the plunge and started a 365 photo blog with the hopes of improving my photography http://daviniasdailyphoto.blogspot.com.au/ and testing myself to see if I can commit to the challenge of posting one every day.
