A few weeks ago I mentioned the Red Magma Swarovski crystals I received from Artbeads.com ...
As I'm sure most of you know I'm not a huge fan of red, especially orange red, which this color is...but this new Swarovski color, Red Magma is simply gorgeous...bright, vibrant, and sparkles like you wouldn't believe... definitly a show stopper!!!
It has taken me sometime to make the necklace. Not because I didn't know what I wanted to make but because I've been a bit busy! Sometimes I can look at something and know exactly what I'm going to make, other times nothing comes to mind. For these pieces I knew right away what I wanted do...
This was an enjoyable piece to make...first I fused and textured two fine silver rings, then wire wrapped the stunning rondelles together, I just love the rondelles they are amazing...because the Cosmic Ovals are rather substantial it was necessary to wire wrap these to the rondelles and the textured ring...as well I wire wrapped the sprig coral to the ring.
Then I added a round and oval linked sterling silver chain I use often...it is substantial but still delicate at the same time! I felt the oval and round links complimented the rest of the necklace perfectly!
As you can see, I also made a pair of earrings using the Magma rondelles and the sterling silver chain...pretty dangles!!
Thank you Artbeads.com...the pleasure has been all mine!!!
Cheers
PS...thought you might like to know Artbeads.com is having a %50 off over 2,000 items until December 15th...now that is a sale!!!

Photos are always a sore point with me Stephanie...takes for ever for me to take one I like...so, thank you for your kind words!
Lovely piece, Heather! I too am a big fan of assymetrical jewelry but it took me ages to actually make some. I guess we get hung up on what we are used to, eh?
ReplyDeleteLovely photography, the shell with some red tone in it is a great addition to the third shot.
Emi
Ooooh, red is my favorite color. This is a smashingly good design and inspiring as I rarely consider asymmetrical designs!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I'm the same way with reddish orange -- not that much of a fan. But the Magma Red is pretty great!
ReplyDeleteThe assymetry of that is very eye catching and mysterious. It PERFECTLY complements that GORGEOUS drop!
ReplyDeleteI know Emi...it took me 3 years to be comfortable doing assymetry...but now I love it and work that way often...thanks Emi for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteYou know Pearl I'm surprised the number of people who love reds...who knew??? I sure didn't...I'm happy this design inspired you to step out of the box...I know how hard it is!!!
Pretty Things...I like blue reds but NEVER orange reds untile this Magma color, you should see the crystals in person, my photos do not do them justice!!!
Hey Robynn...I loved making this necklace...the assymetry is exactly what I wanted...while the necklace is assymetrical, everything, with the exception of the pendant is a circle or oval!!!
Thanks again ladies for your kind word...
Cheers
Well done Heather!!!...delicate chain work yet so striking w/ the red crystals...I can see the earing/necklace combo w/ a black turtleneck (w/ this cold and wind!!!) looking 'tres magnifiqie'...beautiful..:))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs! How is the snow up your way?!
ReplyDeleteP.S. The FTC is an American Institution. It has no authority to make Canadians comply with their new rulings! American bloggers, however, are worried, even with simple things like book reviews. Oiy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy...I do agree a black turtleneck would be stunning...this color realy is spectacular!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenn...thank you...we only got 15/20 cm, nothing compared to the Muskoka region...hope everyone makes out ok!!!
Yes.. I know the FTC is US, but Artbeads is a US company and they have requested that I follow the FTC disclosure requirements so I've complied!
Cheers ladies...
Another fan of the asymmetry!
