Almost everything copper!

I bet you thought I forgot...yes & no, kind of, not really, you get the picture!!!

Here are the gorgeous copper components from Artbeads.com I received the end of April...I can't believe it has been that long...gotta love that company for their patience!

It took awhile bit I've finally finished the necklace...I started wire wrapping the turquoise rice beads to the circles probably back in June, but put it away when I moved and there it sat until last Friday...only took a short while to complete!

As you see below...I started with the three 32mm copper plated pewter circle links, I wire wrapped turquoise rice beads I had in my stash, to the links...then wire wrapped the gorgeous double star, attached the square & oval links spacing them with the same turquoise rice beads...then attached everything to the copper plated metal chain...this is really nice sturdy chain, I was very pleased with it. All the copper pieces are good quality, with a substantial feel to them, you won't be disappointed!

The necklace that emerged is not what I had in mind...things often happen that way, I went with the idea regardless!
I've used everything but one each, of the square and oval links and the three pretty stoneware beads...I also have some of the chain left...I'm going to make a second necklace with what is left...soon!!!

Thank you to Artbeads.com for allowing me the time I needed to take this summer!!!

Enjoy your week...
Cheers

PS...I'm still trying to find the "right" spot to take my photos!!!

  3. Welcome back Heather! Kind of :)
The turquoise goes very well withe the copper.
One questions. Does the copper change color or get tarnish after a while?
Thanks for dropping by my blog the other day.
    Have a great day.

  4. Well done w/ the wire wrap...I really need to take a class...the Whole Bead Show will be in Providence over the weekend...this is where I find most of my vermeil components...it requires ALOT of discipline walking into these bead shows...I'm sure you know the feeling...ugh, finding the right spot...YOU WILL!!

  5. Thank you Davinia...I'm developing more patience for wire wrapping!

Thanks Diane...as I mentioned it wasn't what I had in mind when I chose these pieces but it is what emerged when I started working... :0)

Thanks Mei...I love copper and turquoise...
Regarding the copper pieces in my necklace...the double star color was created with a patina then it was coated with lacquer, so it won't tarnish...as for the pewter links and the chain the description doesn't say anything so I'm going to assume it will eventually change color...having said that I've had the pieces since April and they haven't tarnished yet which is a long time for copper not to tarnish...I'm thinking even though they don't say it they are finished somehow???

Thanks Amy...wire wrapping does take a great deal of practice at least for me it has...it didn't come naturally to me. Lucky you Amy, yes, I understand about the discipline thing, I feel that even going into the small bead shops...but it will so exciting for you as well...have a wonderful time!!! One of these days I'm going to get to one of the "BIG" bead show...

    Thanks for stopping by ladies...
    Cheers
