My Pendant Has Arrived!!!!!!!

I've been patiently waiting for this interestingly, unique pendant to arrive since the end of June...it was well worth the wait... isn't it stunning!

The online bead store Artbeads.com, where this pendant came from, has many of what they are calling "Canvas On Wood Pendants".

These wonderful pendants are actually small prints of artists paintings, they are printed on canvas, using pigment paints then covered with two coats of water resistant-varnish. Each pendant is an amazing work of art, don't you think!

The name of my pendant is "Turquoise Song" by Charlie Clingman ...I chose this particular pendant, as most of you will know because of the color combination...I do love turquoise anything! The second reason is because it is a wonderful work of abstract art, which I find I'm very attracted to. The third reason is because I think it will be great challenge to me to come up with an extraordinary way to use this pendant in a piece of jewelry, while at the same time, not taking anything away from the beauty of it...the pendant must be the focal of what ever I decide to do with it! The way the two bails were used will present a challenge in itself.

I'm going to take sometime to let the pendant sit on my desk so I can look at it...I don't want to rush into anything... something will come to mind! It is a given I will be using a sterling silver toggle maybe a Bali toggle, or wouldn't a sterling silver toggle with emeralds embedded in it stunning?

I'm not sure at this point what else I'll be using...probably sterling silver beads, maybe semi-precious stones similiar in color to the ones I've added in the photo, how about leather and silk, or what about hand forged fused fine silver links? Or a combo of all/some of the above...regardless of what I use it will be fun.
Don't you just love a personal challenge...I do!

The finished necklace!

Here you have it .......

This what Peggy Hodge, who won the give away wanted on her pendant...Faith, Hope and Love...I've added two black glass roundels and two round sterling silver beads to space the the discs so they sit without covering each other...

Please excuse what is some part of me in the bottom of the discs they are very shiny!!! This was the best I could do...other photos had much more of me in them... :0)

Again...I would like to thank all those who took the time to enter the "give away"...watch for one closer to Christmas!!

A give away!

I've gotten behind in my posting but the good news is my last big show for the season is over so I will have time to work on updating my blog, Etsy store and my web site. I know, I know, you've heard it all before!!!!!

I have the best intentions...but...I seem to get side tracked along the way as there is so much to learn and do.

My 1st Anniversary for my Etsy store is November 19th and I'm having a give away, no purchase necessary, for a sterling silver stamped pendant, stamped with names, initials, a short saying, or hammered ... the winners preference. To enter leave a comment after this post or convo me at my Etsy store from November 16th to November 23 telling me what you would like stamped if you win the prize. Something similiar to the pendant below either on a black leather cord or a sterling silver chain again your choice ...the draw will take place on Monday, November 24th. (I managed to get my dates mixed up...it should be November 24th not the 23rd)

I'm also offering "free" shipping in my Etsy store from November 15th to November 30th for the Christmas rush...remember if you don't see what you are looking for convo me...I love custom orders!!!

I will finish the "Birthstone of the Month" series, October and November to be up soon... I've become interested in another aspect of stones... their healing properties, which I find absolutely fascinating. I will be incorporating this information into my blog soon!

I'll be posting again shortly... :0)

Finally, new photos!!!

Here are a few new photos...I'm so slow at getting around to taking photos that unfortunately many of my pieces where sold on the weekend before I had the chance to take the photos...
These wonderful pink chalk turquoise balls are wire wrapped in Argentium silver, with a sterling silver lobster claw... these lovely turquoise beads remind me of pink bubble gum, you know the kind that is individually wrapped...used to love that kind as a child!

~~~Argentium sterling silver for those of you who will want to know is a sterling silver in which the metalloid germanium is replacing a percentage of the copper. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.50% copper. Argentium sterling silver is more expensive than sterling silver but it is tarnish resistant which for many is a worth the extra cost!~~~
This is a stunning piece of chalcedony with a naturally occurring cavity in which crystals have formed...this is called a "Drusy"...I often had people ask if the pendant was broken...it sold on the weekend to someone who knew exactly what it was and was thrilled with it!
Ahhh..some of my favorite charms...I'm a "sun, sand and water" person so I love everything to do with the water...here is a gorgeous all sterling silver bracelet made with me in mind...but...it went to a good home on the weekend...I will make another!!!
A sterling silver pendant, hand cut, sanded and stamped, hanging from a black leather cord...simple but effective!
This striking pendant looks like turquoise but it actually is a form of jasper...strung on a black leather cord it does make a statement!
Now from the retro collection...isn't this fun...glass circles attached to a black leather cord...
Brass, brass, and more brass, with a lovely delicate yellow glass bead...
I like these...in fact I wear a pair myself, without the stones, often...sterling silver wire, with three sparkling clear quartz rondelles...
Another retro piece...large resin beads, tied on a natural colored leather cord...it looks short in this photo but it is acutally a long piece...this went to a great home on the weekend as well...retro is popular this season!
Watch for the August "Birthstone of the Month" coming soon!
Cheers
